I had my first and second ski classes and really appreciate the professors help all the time during the classes, both Craig and Lucas. Lucas was really helpful on my second lesson and helped me to get more confident about skiing and teach the correct movements.
Paulette Irving was a fantastic ski instructor. Highly recommend. My daughter has a disability and Heavenly was able to provide a highly qualified instructor to teach her in a private lesson. My daughter loved her experience and wants to come back. Can’t ask for a better result than this!
Tim was such a great instructor. I really feel comfortable skiing now, and will be returning to Heavenly. He is great at explaining things in a way that the whole class seemed to understand and translate over to their skills.
I am giving these all 10’s to be directed towards our instructor DANNY who was fantastic!!! He took great care of us and we can’t wait to come back to the mountain to continue learning from him. He is a 10 across the board and you guys are lucky to have him as an instructor!!
Greg Roehl was the perfect instructor for me. It had been a number of years since I had skied, he met me where I was in terms of my experience, ability, & lack of familiarity with the new style of equipment, and helped bring me back up to speed on the moguls.
Tom Sinclair was THE best private ski instructor. The value of the lesson was well worth it. Tom was great in teaching skiers of different levels (there were 4 of us) and he was so friendly. Post-lesson Tom also helped critique our ski videos, which was fun. We highly recommend Tom to ANYONE.
I took an adult group lesson with Sterling on 12/31/23 and it was a fantastic way to end the year. His coaching was personalized and patient and always upbeat and encouraging.
Our instructor (Ryan) for snow board lesson was great! He was knowledgeable and a good teacher.
My snowboard instructor Luba was amazing! She went above and beyond to ensure I grasped the fundamentals of snowboarding and gave me space to learn at my own pace. By day 3 I was making S turns on a green run! She is very encouraging and allows her students to learn at their own pace and gives tons of positive feedback.
My daughter had group lessons with Charlie Dec 17th. He was amazing. She had 2 more classes and they were both with Charlie on the 20th and 21st. He is very engaging with the kids. He is super knowledgeable about the progression of snowboarding which is very helpful to parents to continue working with their kids. Charlie is by far one of the best and most engaging kid instructors that our children have had. He builds the kids up and helps give them the confidence they need while making learning fun.
My 9yo old son and I both took two lessons to improve our riding. My son had Josh Fowler; he looked so much better even after the first lesson as they worked on smoothing out his technique. I had Nina Gandhi and Ethan (last name?) for my two lessons and both were awesome! I feel more confident in my abilities after my time with them. My son also made friends with a few lifties (Justin at Canyon/Sky Express and another at Patsys he rode the chair with) and those interactions really were the icing on the cake. We love Heavenly and are looking forward to returning next season. The mountain is awesome, but the staff make it even better. Thank you for all your hard work!
We have had JD Peterson for our kid’s last two private lessons at Northstar. We booked another lesson for Monday February 19th (again at Northstar) and we would like to make sure that we get JD again. We have done a number of lessons in the past as well as ski schools and have found that a large amount of time can go into discovery of the kid’s needs and current level. JD was great and it would be extremely helpful to us if we could maintain a few more lessons with him.
My snowboard instructor, Mark Ortiz, was absolutely amazing! He was knowledgeable and tried many different approaches to improve my riding. But most importantly, Mark put safety first above everything else. Safety is No. 1, and I could easily identify his decisions were always based in that value.
Giovanni G. was the group instructor when I went on 1/20/24 and he was attentive to each member of the group’s needs and really worked on helping us get better. He gave very clear and visual instructions/tips on snowboarding technique which really helped. The snowboard/ski school staff was also very caring and patient with my son that day as well. I love that they feed them lunch included with the price of the lessons! I didn’t get the girls names but they worked on 1/20/24 and one of them was from Michigan.
My ski instructor for the day, Jon Sween, was incredible! He had an eagle eye for the areas in which I needed to improve and clearly explained and demonstrated concepts making it easy to learn. Jon also made sure everyone received individual attention and kept us laughing throughout the session. Thank you, Jon, for a fantastic experience!

This was my first time skiing EVER! Terrence Coupe was my coach. I couldn’t ask for a better experience. His instruction and cues are so well executed. He is energetic, encouraging, professional, and focused. He really wants you to get it! I went from being a first-time skier to riding down blues squares at Heavenly and Kirkwood… by day 3!!!- Please let him know!! Next time I return for a lesson, I will DEFINITELY request Terry. I was very appreciative of the lesson organizers as I registered for the first time class since I hadn’t skied for 10 years, and they helped bump me to the correct group so I could refresh my skills and also learn new techniques. I appreciated that they watched the group to see if anyone needed to be adjusted to different group so they could maximize their experience. Tim also gave a fabulous lesson!
Victor was excellent during our snowboard lesson. He was patient, kind, and extremely knowledgeable. Other staff there were more than happy to answer our questions and direct us to where we needed or wanted to go.

I really enjoyed the two beginner half lessons that I took. Tim Rankins has been a wonderful ski instructor. He encouraged us to try new things and helped us overcome our fears. The view is stunning, and the place and the people were very welcoming.

Lisa was a great ski instructor. During ski school Lisa exceeded expectations. She was focused on safety and was always scanning uphill and downhill. She noticed two kids wandering alone and took quick action. Also, one student felt light headed during class and she assisted. Lisa is the best.
Russ Snow was my trainer. He helped me feel confident and secure, I felt strong and positive about my experience. He rooted me on, kept things light, and had good energy. He guided me on slopes which I would have never done alone. I am so happy to have had this experience and want to have Russ again.
Our group took a private lesson with Victoria (snowboarding). She was an excellent mountain guide and instructor!
The mountain was amazing. We had the best time. Although we were there on a holiday weekend, the chairlift lines were not very long. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Our 2-year-old son took a lesson with Terry, and he was an incredible instructor! Would 10/10 recommend taking a lesson with him!

Overall fantastic experience for our first family ski trip. Our private lesson coach, Katarina Fenton, was amazing! She was able to help our entire family who are all new skiers, ranging from age 4 to adult, feel comfortable skiing after 2 lessons with her.
My snowboarding instructor Hank was amazing and so helpful. Even though it was a group class he took the time to assist everyone and ensure they were comfortable with the skills that he was teaching. Because of Hank I bought a second day lift ticket and did my first ever run!
Tim F was a fantastic instructor! He gave me the perfect instruction to unlock my skiing technique. I had the best trip thanks to Tim F.

I had a FANTASTIC lesson with Evan Nixon. During our group lesson he was friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and supportive. He even led the group in song when we shared that this was a 40th birthday celebration for my husband. Evan made something daunting, fun. He praised and gently corrected us through the falls and I believe everyone in our group felt successful. I’m extremely grateful that he was our instructor. He laid a solid foundation for us all to build upon in the future.

I had an absolutely amazing two days of private snowboard lessons with Danny Featherstone. He got me back up to speed after 6 years away, to confidently running a ton of blues in my second day. We even made it into the park, where I had been before but not with such strong instruction, I really felt like I belonged.
I will definitely come back to Heavenly and request more lessons with Danny, as well as refer him to some friends that are also looking to level up their skills!
We had our first company offsite to Tahoe last weekend and Sarah Bens was our snowboard instructor. I’ve taken many private lessons before at various different resorts, and I can say, unequivocally, that Sarah was the best instructor that I’ve ever had. She’s a fantastic teacher, listener, and has an unparalleled ability to help snowboarders level up. What truly sets Sarah apart is her genuine commitment to her students’ progression. The staff is very friendly and helpful. My daughter especially liked her instructors Connor (snowboarding) and Gavin (skiing). They have great personalities especially with working with children, and she learned quite a bit from them. Even days after, she kept talking about how funny they were. Keep up the good work, we’ll be back next year!

I took group ski lessons both days I skied and it was almost as if I had my own private instructor. They were so patient with me and explained things in a way I could understand. I have had ski lessons before and never had the feedback and one on one that I got from Heavenly instructors. I really want to point out Walter Eagan. He was so patient with me and took me down my first blue! If I had had a few more days I feel confident I could have comfortably started with blues! We will definitely be back!!

We hired a private instructor, Evan (he is from Buffalo, NY), to teach our son to ski. He did such an amazing job with our son. He worked with him for 3 days, and our son can’t wait to come back and ski again. He did so well, and Evan’s instruction was spot on!

Conner Jones spent two days with my daughter helping her improve her confidence on the slopes and she greatly improved her snowboarding abilities.
JD Peterson was probably the best ski instructor I’ve personally had. I got really frustrated at spending so much time every morning on Big Easy when my instructors from the previous day already know my abilities. JD finally just grabbed a bunch of us from the same level, saved us at least an hour, and took us out to blues. His technical skills are superb.
Daniel Featherstone went out of his way to recognize that my daughter needed a much better board at her level and helped us get both her and her sister an upgraded snowboard. He was a great instructor and helped her develop her skills. Please thank him for his amazing teaching.
Steve Liang also taught my daughter snowboarding the first couple of days. Not only did he do an amazing job getting her comfortable with Heavenly, he wrote a long message about her progress and what she could do to continue to improve once the lessons were over. Amazing person!
Alex Jordan was a good snowboard instructor for my daughter.
I also wanted to mention Steve Fullard. He skied with me and was phenomenal. He gave great instruction and even when another ‘classmate’ ran into me, he stayed with her and called patrol and did everything he could to help. He went above and beyond for our class.
Jay Patel was a phenomenal snowboard instructor to our son, Liam. He even stayed late and made jumping ramps for him. Liam improved greatly with his help.

You should really be proud of all of your instructors – they give their heart and soul every day to help make others safe on the mountain and they are passionate about what they do. We’ve skied Winter Park, Italian/French/Swiss Alps, Breck, Vail, Beaver Creek, Snowmass, Keystone, Steamboat – and your instructors are some of the finest around.
Sean D, was my daughters’ ski instructor. He was absolutely amazing and for their very 1st time skiing He made them feel very comfortable on the mountain.

We took a half day lesson with Tim Rankins. Tim was amazing. He showed us spots I never would have gone to before. Our lesson was paced well and he gave us the appropriate number of skills to focus on improving. I feel like a much more confident skier on more challenging terrain and I know where to focus my energy on in order to progress because of Tim. Thanks Tim!!

We booked private group snowboarding lessons and were so thankful we were paired with instructor Ryan Goralski. Ryan was an amazing instructor – so kind and tuned in to our needs and abilities and tailored our time accordingly. He was friendly, made us feel comfortable immediately, but what really impressed us was that he took the time to help others who were nearby and clearly not having a good time – either because their instructor didn’t realize or they were left behind. He was able to quickly help others, without taking away from our lesson time. I was hoping other instructors would do the same for us if they saw us struggling outside of our lesson time. I can’t say enough good things about Ryan. He is a gem. Please do everything in your power to keep him as an instructor at Heavenly!!

I purchased ski lessons (I haven’t skied in 20 years) and was fortunate to have Evan as my instructor. Evan made my experience a treasure. He took extra time to make sure I was comfortable and understood things and when I made mistakes he explained them with an upbeat and encouraging attitude. If you are fortunate enough to have Evan as your ski instructor, you will not be disappointed.
We had a great experience with the children’s ski school. Specifically, our boys had Karsten as their instructor and he was amazing. He help foster a love of skiing, great instructor. Our kids loved him and he did a great job improving their ski ability and love of the sport!

Great people. I skied Heavenly three times this season. Everyone, and I mean every single employee, that I had an interaction with was friendly, helping and professional. From the folks I talked with on the phone about equipment rental, ski passes and lessons; to the equipment fitters; to the lift operators; and finally to the instructors, I had nothing but positive experiences. Ski school was an excellent option for my family. My children took classes from Monday to Friday and they learned and had a lot of fun. All the instructors are very good and very good people with the children. My husband and I took 4 private classes with an instructor named Lía Brown and it was the best option we had since we achieved the green and blue runs. All the staff of the ski school kids were great, especially Savannah, Zerbe, Lia Brown. Excellent service. Congratulations for the people you have.
Jean Brown was our instructor. She was extremely helpful, very patient and fun to work with. She gave us private lessons and she went above and beyond when one of our group members had altitude sickness. She was exceptionally good.
